Press & Featured In
SoftCrit is an independent publication that hands-on tests business software. Journalists and research roundups occasionally ask our founder, Matthew Hu, to weigh in on software reviews, product decisions, and how small teams buy tools. This page keeps a running record of those features. We don’t pay for placements, and being featured doesn’t change how we score a product.

How Software Teams Turn Customer Feedback Into Better Releases
Matthew Hu contributed to the section “Apply thresholds for market relevance.” He explained why the loudest customer is rarely the most representative: a custom reporting feature that dominated internal meetings mattered to only 3% of users, while a support-ticket request for faster invoice generation affected 60%. His rule before a feature ships: ask whether it affects more than 20% of active users, moves a core metric (retention, activation, or revenue), and fits the product’s stated positioning — if it fails two of those, it’s a loud request rather than a broadly useful need.
